Moodle Reading Quizzes

Studies suggest that online reading quizzes can help students focus their attention and better prepare for class discussions. They give me a sense of what you do and don’t understand from the day’s reading. In addition, they let us devote more time in class to active learning. Moodle reading quizzes are not timed, and you can take them any time before class meets on the assigned date.  

You are welcome to use your notes and readings to complete the Moodle Reading Quizzes.

Map Quiz

This map quiz is designed to make sure you have a basic familiarity with the regions we’ll be studying this semester. Latin American geography is a key foundation to getting the most out of our lectures and readings, and to understanding the regional diversity of the Americas.

Locate these places and features on your map (an additional copy is available on Moodle). The map quiz at the beginning of class on Friday, January 27 will ask you to identify cities from this list (providing both city and country names) and to draw in selected physical and political features.
